ACHIEVEMENTS OF ARCHAEOLOGY STUDENTS AS JOURNALISTS IN THE MSIB MBKM PROGRAM

When Again Youniverse (KLY) is a digital business platform that operates under the auspices of PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk (EMTEK), after merging with Creative Media Karya (KMK). This company started from KapanLagi.com which is now the largest digital media company in Indonesia. KLY has various media categories, including news, sports, lifestyle, and entertainment.

During the internship period, Haikal worked as Content News on an international channel, involving creating journalistic products in the form of news articles, photos and videos in accordance with journalistic principles and ethics that apply in Indonesia. Every article written always follows journalistic writing techniques and structured coverage planning. Haikal produces four to five news stories per day, according to the direction and orders of his mentor, the head of the channel.

Apart from that, Haikal is also included in field coverage related to international activities in Indonesia, such as at foreign embassies and international-based events or activities in Indonesia.

Since the outbreak of war in the Middle East on October 7 2023, Haikal has often been assigned to monitor the latest news from foreign media for rewriting and live coverage at the Palestinian Embassy. This internship experience was very impressive for Haikal. With this, he is grateful to be able to participate in voicing humanitarian rights and justice. During his five month internship, he succeeded in publishing 277 news articles which can be accessed and read on the official Merdeka.com website. These are the two news articles with the highest number of readers, 'Warga Jakarta Gelar Doa Bersama dan Nyalakan Lilin untuk Gaza yang Jadi Target Agresi Israel' and 'Kota Berusia 3.400 Tahun Ini Muncul dari Dalam Sungai, Ada Istana Sampai Benteng' that can be seen on Merdeka.com page.
