Public Lecture "Open Source and Free Software Tools for Archaeology: a State of The Art and a Focus on The ArchaeoViz System"

Denpasar, November 10, 2025 — The Archaeology Study Program of Universitas Udayana held a public lecture entitled “Open Source and Free Software Tools for Archaeology: A State of the Art and a Focus on the ArchaeoViz System.” The event featured guest lecturer Sébastien Plutniak, Ph.D. from the University of Toulouse as the keynote speaker and was moderated by I Made Agus Julianto, S.S., M.Sc. The lecture took place at the Soekarno Room, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Denpasar, and was attended by students and members of the academic community from various study programs.

Through this activity, participants were encouraged to understand the application of open science and the use of open-source software in archaeological data processing, including an introduction to ArcheoViz. This public lecture also aimed to strengthen an open global data management system that can be accessed collaboratively by research teams.
