Archaeology students in the Cultural Sciences Faculty Student Sports Week 2025 with the theme "Samya Krida Anandah"
The Student Senate of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (SMFIB) recently held the Student Sports Week (POM) from May 18, 2025, to June 14, 2025. This event is held annually and involves all study programs within the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University. This year, the Archaeology Study Program participated actively with many students joining as a contingent to compete.
The Student Sports Week featured 11 sports branches, including E-sport. During the event, the contingents competed fiercely to bring pride to the Archaeology Study Program. This was proven by the multiple championships achieved, such as: Table Tennis winning 3rd place, Basketball 1st place, PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) 2nd place, PUBG 3rd place, Tekken 8 3rd place, and Solo Vocal 3rd place.
In an interview, Mrs. Zuraidah, S.S., M.Si., Chairperson of the Archaeology Study Program, congratulated the event. “I congratulate and thank all contingents who participated in the Student Sports Week (POM). Hopefully, the achievements of the contingents can improve the performance of the Archaeology Study Program,” she said. Also, I.D.A.M Surya Gayatri Dharma, Treasurer of the Archaeology Student Association, expressed that the event fostered healthy competition among study programs at Udayana University and expanded their networks.
Two Archaeology students, Franklin Gilberto Moreno Ohoiwutun (Class of 2024) and Muhammad Rafi Akmal Raihan (Class of 2023), who were part of the POM 2025 contingent, shared their thoughts. They were very pleased to have activities outside lectures and felt that the addition of sports branches this year made the event more memorable. Muhammad Fikri Alimusa Daud, the Official for the Archaeology Study Program in the POM sports branch, stated, “The Student Sports Week (POM) challenges students to showcase their talents and abilities.”
The Archaeology students express gratitude and full support to the contingents who fought to win and bring pride to the program. Encouragement was also given to those who did not win to stay spirited and not give up. They thanked all participants for being the proudest part of the Archaeology Study Program and wished the next contingents success in achieving goals yet to be realized. This event is hoped to awaken competitive spirits in students and foster a never-give-up attitude.
